Definition of “Japanese-Affiliated Companies” for the purpose of this survey:
- Overseas Office of a Japan-Based Company (including overseas branches, representative offices, and liaison offices of Japanese companies)
- Japanese Subsidiary (U.S. corporations wholly owned by Japanese companies, including their headquarters, branches, subsidiaries, and sub-subsidiaries)
- Joint Venture (Headquarters and branches of joint venture companies established by Japanese firms in which 10% or more of the shares are held by Japanese companies or individuals)
- Company Launched Overseas by a Japanese National (U.S. businesses established by Japanese nationals in which 10% or more of the shares are held by Japanese companies or individuals)
