ECONOMIC RELATIONS
The Economic Section works to foster closer economic cooperation between Japan and the 10 Midwest states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. To this end, it conducts an annual survey of Japanese business facilities in the region, promotes Midwest direct investment to Japan, and more.
In order to strengthen the promotion of inward FDI as the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs established “Contact Point for Promotion of Foreign Direct Investment in Japan” to support American companies intending to invest in Japan.
