Relief Fund for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake 2024

The Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago is currently accepting donations for the relief fund related to the earthquake that occurred in the Noto Peninsula region of Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1, 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the "Noto Peninsula Earthquake"). Donations will be accepted by the following methods.
 
Donations received at our office will be forwarded to either the Japanese government or the Japanese Red Cross Society. In both cases, all donations will be distributed as relief funds for the victims of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
 
1. Check
(1) Check Details:
Payee: Consulate-General of Japan / NOTO
Memo: Select either the Japanese Government or the Japan Red Cross Society for your donation and write "Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief: To [Specify: Japanese Government or Japanese Red Cross Society]" in the memo line.
(2) Sending by mail:

If you need a receipt, please include a note with your contact information.
(3) Deliver in person:
Bring the check directly to the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago and inform the reception on the 11th floor that you are donating for earthquake relief. If you need a receipt, please let us know.
 
2. Cash
Bring cash directly to the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago and inform the reception on the 11th floor that you would like to donate for the earthquake relief. Please specify whether you wish to send the donation to the Japanese government or the Japanese Red Cross Society. Please let us know if you need a receipt.
 
Please note that donations received at our office are not deductible under U.S. tax law.
