tenstatesThe Consulate General of Japan at Chicago serves the 10 Midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The main purposes of the consulate are 1) to serve Japanese nationals, 2) represent the Japanese government, and 3) provide travel services and cultural information about Japan to non-Japanese residents within the 10-state jurisdiction.

In the About Us section of the website, you will find news about the consulate itself, information about how and when to best contact or visit the consulate, a basic organizational chart of the staff and sections, and a list of Americans currently serving as Honorary Consuls General in the 10-state jurisdiction.
