This year, once again the Japanese Foreign Ministry and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership are joining forces to send a Japanese American Leadership Delegation to Japan.
The purposes of the program are three-fold: 1) to improve mutual understanding between our countries, 2) to expand the role of Japanese Americans in advancing our bilateral relations, and 3) to develop a network of Japanese American leaders. As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the program, we have been asked to find a senior leader in the field of politics/government or business.
In short, the Delegation will be organized as follows:
- Participants: Thirteen Japanese American leaders, including multi-racial Japanese Americans, between 40-60 years of age
- Schedule: February 26-March 7, 2010
- Itinerary: Travel to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka; meet with Japanese leaders in the fields of government, business and politics, and with Japanese-Americans living in Japan
- Mandatory Orientation: January 22-23, 2010 in Los Angeles
- Application deadline: Friday, Nov. 13, 2009
